Life Ministry

An integral part of the holistic approach that LIM takes towards equipping our leaders is expressed through Life Ministry projects. These are small cooperatives which enable some of our centres to move towards self sustainability by providing livelihoods that are not dependent upon the traditional, top-down method of handouts. We believe that real sustainability emerges from grass root, locally-led initiatives and effort.

At present, some of our leaders run:

  • Sewing Machines Centres
  • Computer Training Centre
  • Village Store
  • Goat Breeding Centre
  • Crop Growing and Produce Selling

A well-run Life Ministry project can not only provide income for the leader, but it can also bring dignity and status. In its own way, a Life Ministry project is therefore a witness to the Gospel and a bridge that can help others know about Christ and His Gospel.

The benefit of a successful Life Ministry project will be felt far beyond the leader’s immediate family. Funds raised can be used to meet the needs of some of the students, or to create opportunities for employment or skills training for others in the local community or even to launch a Life Ministry at a different centre. It hasn’t happened yet but we haven’t stopped trying either!
