Rev Keith Henry King B.A, M.Div

Keith became a follower of Jesus after a three year dialogue with a committed Christian while he was running his own paraffin business in Torquay, South Devon. There followed an unmistakable call of God into ‘full-time’ Christian ministry. After selling his two businesses he spent 6 years in full-time theological study earning diplomas and a degree in theology from Spurgeon’s College. He then helped to lead churches in the south of England for over 38 years. He is an Accredited Baptist Minister of the Baptist Union of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
In 2015, at the age of 65, he took the opportunity to ‘retire’ from paid pastoral ministry and focus more on equipping Global Church leaders to be missional ambassadors for Christ. In 2009 he studied for a Diploma in Leadership Development at the Nicholas Hill Business School and (2021) he earned a Master’s degree (M.Div.) from DCU (Secunderabad, India & Mississippi, USA) for a thesis on P.T.Forsyth’s ‘Doctrine of the Atonement – The Cruciality of The Cross’. He was eager to demonstrate that Forsyth’s original thinking was not only a timely reaction to the theological and social issues he faced in the 19th century, but also so relevant for today’s neo post-modernism.
He is passionate about communicating the truth contained in the Holy Bible in a way that is engaging and relevant as well as inspiring others to do so. Since 2015 he has been training leaders for ministry within the church and the world and has developed the Langley Institute of Ministry (LIM) to facilitate this. In 2021, Keith received two awards recognising the excellent work LIM is doing among some of the poorest communities in Asia and Africa. He says, “it is our hard working tutors and workers on the ground that are really making a difference. As leaders the greatest thing we can do is to impart vision and sustain that vision with inspirational teaching giving them mission purpose”.
One of his greatest gifts is his lovely wife Lynne Mary whom he married in 1973 (50 years ago this July). They have two beautiful daughters, a quality son-in-law and three lovely grandchildren. Keith relaxes by tweaking websites, playing his guitar, kayaking and being a Granddad ~ although not all at the same time!
